So, I can describe myself as a Candle maker and home fragrance enthusiast amongst other things...
My name is Mark, now in my 50s so no spring chicken, I created Inspired Wax Creations in early 2021 and finally after hours, days, weeks and months of testing, testing and more testing, in April of that year I was ready to share my work with the world, well, Greece at least as logistically, that was the best (or only) option.

I was not new to Candle making, although this new enterprise started during covid times and lockdowns, many years ago in what sometimes feels like another life, living in the Uk I learned the craft of making Candles, then using Paraffin Wax as it was pretty much the only wax available, back then I was more in to making colourful candles with the fragrance being a second thought, however, as time has passed and the fascination of the link between aromas and memory, and just more of an enthusiasm for fragrances, it became the most important thing for me as the modern day maker, to not only make something to create an ambience or atmosphere, but to make burning a candle an experience, something that could transport your mind to another time and place.

These days I use vegetable based waxes as I find them easier to work with. Many people, even Candle makers will tell you that Paraffin wax is toxic, however, there is absolutely no accredited scientific proof of this, so anyone making these claims is clearly stating their opinion, not a fact.
I choose the waxes I work with based on performance and workability. Safety is a virtue of course so any materials I use must be safe and approved for use by people and around animals and children.

I was born in a small town in England in 1970, growing up with 2 brothers, I had what I would describe as a happy and normal childhood, my parents who were still together, until my father passed away in November of 2022, were not strict but not too liberal either, they never put any pressure on me or my 2 brothers to be anything other than ourselves and to be happy. 

During my working life in construction, customer service and marketing, I always had a passion for crafting and making things with my own hands, I tried many things and crafting was a kind of escape or therapy (still is today!) 

Whilst living in the Uk, I didn't start selling Candles or Wax Melts due to not having sufficient time. During the week, after long days at work I would be too tired and at weekends I would participate in another passion of mine, football, initially as a player and then becoming a referee.

After meeting my now wife and moving to Greece in 2007, I took some time to get my bearings and adjust to a vastly different culture. I became a father in 2012 and for those of you with children, you know only too well that life can get hectic most of the time.

It was only in the first covid lockdown that I revived my passion for crafting and it was only a matter of time before I got back in to making Candles. It was suggested to me by a few people that I should sell them because I was making products that people would pay for.
At first I was hesitant, not that I lack confidence but as a person, I was not someone to put myself out there and shout from the rooftops about how good I am and how good the products were.
I am a humble person, so I wanted to make the products about the recipient and this was the inspiration for the idea to make personalised products and the name came from that.

So in April of 2021, Inspired Candle Creations was born. Since changed to Inspired Wax Creations (the name is the same in Greek, right?!) and over 3 years later, we are still here and making competitively priced products. We have a good local customer base and this I cannot take the credit for. Although I am the only maker of the products and the only one updating the website, some wonderful people help me and I always refer to the business/hobby as 'we' because it is very much a team effort. The way I see it is that the others are doing the hard work of promoting the products and I get the easy and enjoyable job of making them!
